Tim Nelson has worked with literally hundreds of schools as an advisor and inspector and brings a wealth of experience to the review process.

The advantage of this review is that it provides a completely new view of the document without any prior knowledge of the school, just as it would appear to a lead inspector.

This is a particularly popular service with schools likely to be inspected soon.

He will annotate the school’s self-evaluation with comments and suggestions e.g.

• Where more information might be needed
• If anything key information appears to be missing
• If there is needless repetition or perhaps too much information
• How the self-evaluation reflects the EIF 2019
• What a particular sentence or paragraph could suggest to a lead inspector (positive or negative!)
• Any additional comments.

Tim has also provided school leaders with example sections from anonymized SEFs from other schools (with their permission) when this has been useful.

Once received as a Word document or in a compatible format, the self-evaluation is annotated and returned to the headteacher within 5 working days.
