This course is designed for teaching assistants who support individual pupils or groups of pupils and wish to further develop their understanding of how children learn.
The training will cover the role of the TA; what is meant by pupil ‘independence’; ensuring effective liaison with the class teacher and effective strategies to support and engage pupils.
The training will also refer to the national professional standards for teaching assistants and how these can be used to underpin ongoing professional development.
