NEW! Applying Metacognition in Practice: Strategies to bridge the Covid19 Curriculum Gap.

This course builds on the very popular ‘Metacognition and Questioning’ course, but is also accessible as a stand alone session. It has been designed to help teachers plan units of work and to implement proven strategies to enable rapid progress in focused areas of learning.

It will provide primary teachers with practical strategies and resources that can inform planning and classroom practice, utilising the principals of metacognition, to address the gaps in learning that have resulted from school closure during the COVID-19 crisis.

The theory of metacognition will be discussed which underpins the resources and strategies. Numerous examples of targeted units of work, utilising metacognative strategies, will be shared with attendees. Note: This session builds on the other course, but does not repeat the same content.
